Know your GENIUS

Very interesting forward...

From the book "The Greatness Guide" authored by ROBIN SHARMA.

"QUOTE

Focus on any area or skill with a relentless devotion to daily improvement and a passion for excellence and within three to five years, you will be operating at a level of competence (and insight) such that people call you a genius.  Focus plus daily improvement plus time equals genius.  Understand that formula deeply and your life will never be the same.

Micheal Jordan was a basketball genius.  Was his spectacular success on the court purely the result of nature gifts?  Absolutely not.  He took what nature gave him and ran the formula: Focus plus daily improvement plus time equals genius.  He didn't try to be good at five different sports. He didn't scatter his focus.  He just got devoted to being brilliant at basketball.  And he was.

Thomas Edison registered a stunning 1093 patents over his lifetime and invented the light bulb as well as the phonograph. (A schoolteacher labelled him a slow learner when he was a kid: he didn't listen.  Kudos.)  He didn't try to be a great merchant and a great poet and a great musician.  He focused on his inventions.  He improved daily.  And he let time work its magic.  Genius came knocking.

Makes me think of a story about Pablo Picasso.  One day a woman spotted him in the market and pulled out a piece of paper.  "Mr.Picasso," she said excitedly, "I'm a big fan.  Please, could you do a little drawing for me?"  Picasso happily complied and quickly etched out a piece of art for her on the paper provided.  He smiled as he handed it back to her, and said, "That will be a million dollars."  "But Mr.Picasso," the flustered woman replied, "it only took you 30 seconds to do this little masterpiece." "My good woman," Picasso laughed, "it took me 30 years to do that masterpiece in 30 seconds."

Know that you can excel at-your genius.  Discover your talents and then work like crazy to polish them.

One of the most important of all personal leadership skills is self-awareness. Know what you are really great at.  Reflect on those abilities that others admire in you.  Think about those capabilities that just come easily to you-and that flow effortlessly from you.  You might be a fantastic communicator or have a way with people.  You might possess an extraordinary ability to execute and get things done.  Perhaps your special talent lies in innovation and creativity and seeing what everyone else sees but thinking in a different thought.  Find your genius points and then develop them.  Focus plus daily improvement plus time.  Start today and in three to five years people will be writing about you.  Calling you a genius.

New Co-ordinates

Now-a-days, MOBILE  is one thing thats on everybody's "Icantlivewithout" list [those who disagree, I'm not talking bt them :P]. So deep is the attachment: they dont wanna change their numbers[CO-ORDINATES as my dad calls], even when the network is shitty and others cant reach them. Yeah!! when they do shift to some other city, they have no other option but to change their co-ordinates. I did it twice already and lemme tell you.. its not a very happy thing to do :(( Given a choice, i would still like to stick to my old number cos the process of passing on your new co-ordinates to everyone and stuff like that is rilly rilly irritating. No matter what, everything has a positive side to it...You can iggy some people you wouldnt wanna keep in touch with. Hahahaaa **wicked**

P.S: I seriously hope that in future we wont have to change our co-ordinates no matter where you move. :D \m/

Back Home...

After a rilly long time of ASS-working, it feels great to be at peace with absolutely no tensions at all!! No worries about the future and past had been perfect.. so just living in the moment :) Been dreaming of this phase ever since i was in the first year. Five years and a looooooottttt of STRESS (CEPTians will surely understand this) later i am back home with my family. Rilly rilly rilly missed all of them and the little joys one gets staying at home - yeah right!! talking bout the feeling of being loved for who you are \m/, getting compliments on everything you do(even if it is kinda okay or not-so-perfect), being comforted during rough times, the way they pamper you, the pleasure of doing a chore - however small it is, irritating your brothers and sisters, playing scrabble and another 10001 things i cant express :P.

P.S: I feel blessed wid such a F.A.M.I.L.Y!! Thanx God...

Last days in college :((

I still remember my first time in here... Wooowww!!!! It was definitely LOVE at first sight :D The greenery, the plaza, the canteen, the amphi... so beautiful. So in love, i wasnt thinking of anything else. Took up this course and five years later I'm sitting here in the same place finding it hard to believe how fast the time flew. The memories of the first days are still fresh in my mind - sometimes i feel like it all happened just a coupla days back.
INTERACTING with seniors, wearing the dress code(mismatch), the freshers jam, the G-spot, canteen queues, the sketching classes, the surveying and levelling sessions on the lawns, site visits, cafe conferences, the tree house, mass bunks, the movies, the rock shows, daaru parties, birthday treats, the gossips, the silly crushes.. Meyn!!! those were some great times...
Just a few weeks ago, i was desperately trying to finish everything as soon as possible. Now, I've finally GRADUATED and not a bit happy :(  Always knew this day would come but now when it rilly has... I started missing it already!! This place has been the most amazing thing that ever happened to me! And attached with it are some of my Lifes best memories.

Overnocturnalism :\ *dont ask me what it means*

Yet again, I was lying on my bed trying to get some sleep so i can get up early and start working!! But instead I was staring at the ceiling lost in thoughts....**no sleep** Plugged in the earfones and listened to me fav moozik, even tried bhajans **still no sleep** Shut my eyes tightly and counted numbers - backwards from 500 **sigh!!** It was 4.00 a.m already :| After 100 odd ways, i was about to give up when i remembered someone telling me long ago that a shower helps one to get a good nights sleep...So "I"(of all the people) took a bath at 4.20 a.m :P Yeah!! its unbelievable (lol) Surprisingly it worked! 4-5 hrs of disturbed sleep was bliss too \m/ And I recently broke that record too :| Slept @ 8 a.m the day before... The CHILD in you…

No matter how old you are - whether its 16 or 60, there are moments when the child in you plays peek-a-boo… People generally avoid doings certain things ‘cos they think its childish :P But hello?? Its so much fun to do what you feel like. Even now at 22, I never miss to buy soap solution once in a while and play ‘whoblowsthebiggestbubblegame’ with the kids. I still feel like having those candies I loved when I was a kiddo –Gems, rola-cola, mango-bite, poppins, peppermint, Phantom ciggies (yeah the white ones with the red end – sometimes used as lipsticks :P), bubblegum, fatafat, different flavors of the magic powder (not sure what its called-pardon my poor memory :|), lollipops… Meeyyyn!!! I was better @ saving money then I guess. *sigh* Last December was so much fun wid my niece and nephew around – felt like a child allover again. Loved every moment of it, be it coloring the pictures in a book or Playing Ring-a-ring-a-roses and catch-catch or Reciting all the childhood poems and songs or getting ready to go for a ride in the colony itself or watching cartoons… No hassles no tensions, what a care-free life it was!! How I wish life’s always like that… aah!! Dream on :|

P.S: Never ignore the CHILD in u - will realize how happy it makes you.

BLeH!! BlaH!! ThiS and tHat...

I dont mind having the famous Shambu's "COFFEE COCO MIX"(yeah yeah!! i know its cocoa, but thats how its written in there :P) anytime - Tastes heavenly!! Love making food on our one burner stove.. its so much fun.But yeah sometimes its damn frustrating when you have to use the pressure cooker three times in a row :| Bought some imported double mocha stuff from a dollar store and *sigh* it tastes like hot chocolate... started loving NESCAFE more than ever. Nothing can beat the experience of going on a drive with friends \m/ Waking up early on a sunday is something very very strange. Stranger than a UFO landing in an amusement park!! "now what was i thinking?? :O" Watching Sarabhai vs sarabhai and laughing out loud together is one of the best times spent! 6 people, one newspaper - wow!!! now comes the use of the mathematical operation called 'division' :P My typical morning activity - sipping coffee while solving the toughest SUDOKU.Rushing out to take the clothes off the line even when its just drizzling is the most irritating chore. Getting calls from all your friends and family just to make sure you're safe during the horrible serials blasts - leaves you feeling more loved than ever :D \m/ Going through the cards, gifts and letters u got till date is an altogether different feeling which i cannot explain. Feel on top of the world when u find yourself on the collage someone made/ learn from people how good they speak about you :). Complimenting people on any and everything is what makes them and you happy.... Smile when u say hello!! People can listen it \m/ Dont get mad cos i just penned a few random things...BLeH!! BlaH!! ThiS and tHat... :P

P/A/R/T/ing ways :|

Saying good-bye is one thing I’m sure most people hate. I DO TOO!! Today was one of those days, when I couldn’t resist from shedding tears. Even the thought of parting from a dear F.R.I.E.N.D is unbearable.. It hasn’t happened as yet but I feel its gonna be more dreadful than I can even imagine… Five years of being together through thick and thin… working for assignments and submissions, bitching about people, gossiping while sipping coffee at the canteen, sleep overs, bed time stories, laughing without any reason, umpteen number of movies, the poor jhonx, cooking experiments, trips to all the places and blah blah blah!!! College life couldn’t be more fun without you…. Five years have passed like five hours *Million sigh* Wish we could spend the rest of our lives like that too :| yeah, I know it aint possible… But I wish. Gosh im sooo gonna miss you SILLY :( Wishing you the best of life… Love ye.. muuuaaaahh!! **hugs and kisses** Hope to see you soon…...

All they need is L.O.V.E.

Came across a coupla forwards:
ONE - which had answers to a question put up to kids aged 4-8 yrs. “Whats L.O.V.E??” I was really amazed at the answers given. Oh-so-very cute!!
TWO - which was a slideshow on what parents expect from their children when they are old? A very senti forward I must say.
I seriously wonder…. When we were kids, we were like the oh-so-cute-n-innoSAINT types and then as we grew up something happened all of a sudden and we changed drastically??!! Howzzat possible - I think the evil takes over the sanctity after a certain age :| I know how much I love my parents and feel like the luckiest one around but in spite of all that I end up doing/saying things that hurts them sometimes… Why don’t we understand the fact that even if they are wrong, all they want is the best for us?? My blood boils when I think of people leaving their parents in the old age homes or taking them to the U.S. just cos the labor rates are high there… PATHETIC!! I cant imagine how people can treat their own parents with such cruelty, forgetting all they had to sacrifice even if it was just to take them out to a restaurant or give them a toy they wanted. Huh.. How much more do the children want ??
Lemme tell you of a day from my past:
Once upon a time – back in ’99 or ’00, our class had to go to an old age home and give them food/ blankets/ etc and perform something as a part of a social service programme. What an experience it was!! I can never forget how their faces lit up with greatest smiles when we spent some time talking to them – I confess they weren’t so happy even when we gave them food or put up an act/dance show. And later when the time came for us to leave, they were all in tears fearing the feeling of loneliness again. I then promised myself that I will definitely do something in future… But then **sigh** I got busy with my academics-I know its just an excuse!!
If not anything – I’ll atleast make it a point to visit old age homes once in a while after I graduate. I really do appreciate Debojit Saha of SAREGAMAPA fame for the message he conveyed through the show!! **applause** .
Seriously people - never ever do something like that to your parents.. They don’t need no money or presents, “ALL THEY NEED IS A LITTLE L.O.V.E FROM US”

P.S: Do u read all the e-mails you get?? I’m sure most of you skip the forwarded stuff.
Take sometime to at least browse through the contents… You will really learn a lot from some of them!! Believe me…

Five long years of staying with friends :D \m/
One can hardly forget such classic times unless he/she gets hit on the head (yeah!! just like the K-serials) and is suffering from amnesia. hahaa!! The song "Summer of '69 - those were the best days of my life" perfectly suits. I cant fit anything and everything in the blog but am just trynna pen down a few moments which im sure everyone sharing an apartment wid friends can relate to:

  • Singing songs like crazy.. especially during exam time when u r supposed to be studying

"Predictable or Unpredictable??"

After watching the movie "NEXT"..I started wondering what kinda life would it be if I could see the future - be it just 2 minutes?? Would i prefer my life being predictable or enjoy the surprises it has to offer?? Meynnn!! The saying "grass is always greener on the other side" is so abso-fooking-lutely true... The title says "If you can see the future, you can have it".I would love to see and change the future, but then isnt PREDICTABLE so damn boring?? :| Although sometimes you might wish you had such powers, its better you don't have em cos life is beautiful the way it is!! :)

P.S: You realize the value of what you had only after u lose it.

Silence...

One moment u feel theres a lotta stuff happening around and you're like "Yaayyy!!!I'd never been so happy all my life". Just as everythings going right you are into deep shit!! Lifes so boring with 1001 problems and our attempts to find a solution to 'em. *sigh* I guess unless you experience the opposites you wont understand what real happiness is :| But sometimes it so happens that you are down and bored to death dealing wid you know what?? yeah the same 1001 problems, when even the sweetest gesture from a person who cares can trigger off alien feelings. One doesn't behave or act like they always do!!! Scares the hell out of me when i experience something like that n i turn out to be someone very much unlike me. Thats when i cut off myself from the rest of the world and travel to another place - "SILENCE" !!! Even a few moments in there can be sheer bliss - away from all the tensions in life..
Advice: Make sure to spend sometime in there everyday and im sure you'll love it :D

P.S:
  1. yeah i do say "SHIT HAPPENS, but i care a damn" <<< it aint like that always
  2. One of my all time favourite song - "You say it best when you say nothing at all"

NEWS channels, are they ?!?!!

Once upon a time... actually not very long ago, on a rainy afternoon:
During a break from working up the topmost part (read brain: lil of which is left :|) of my body on all the crazy calculations for my thesis , i was happily tasting
the sweetest of the Alphonsoes dad had bought (aaaahaaa!!! heavenly) while checking out whats new on the teevee. I confess i prefer watching an English movie or prolly some interesting show on Mtv/ discovery/ animal planet/ nat geo/ zee cafe/ star world/ AXN if given a chance. But for a change, was browsing through the set of NEWS channels which mostly showed the same breaking news or top story when something happens. There was no progress on the Aarushi's murder case even after the CBI took over. Change! Stock market once again in the red. Change! I see something on Shirdi Sai baba in the breaking news and read on for a while as im one of the His many devotees. "Bhakton ki aastha ke saath khilvad, XXX tv ne kiya parda faash" **baffled look** So I Change! again... but this time, directly to the ABCtv channel where they were showing something on Him. What do i see?? no points for guessing.. Yes its a video of Sai Baba (no sound) in which he was talking and blinking his eyes too. Cud've left it showing the same.. but HEIGHTS: they were airing a show related to the video where in the people were debating whether its a fake or a real one!??!! whether someone actually captured the video or created it using the technology??!! Two channels going against each other... Whoa!! thats such a breaking news. SICK!! don't they have better things to show on news channels other than crazy anonymously posted videos of aliens/ghosts, revealing how a magic trick is performed, what people do in wrestling competitions >>>> all with some so called special effects where they circle a portion and say "yeh dekho blah blah blah", an arrow pointing as if thats something not spottable by human beings..... Yikes!!! Koooossssh bhi eh?? Some famAsS news channels they are :| i also hate the captions they give - PAAPI PAAPA, SHER SCOOTER PE.. wth??

By any chance if people working in the XXXtv or the ABCtv have read this attempted second blog of mine... try and do something to improve the quality of the news , will ye??!?!!

Childhood memories....

There are times in everybody’s life when you think of your childhood days and feel like going through the photo album which is full of precious memories that our parents have captured. Yesterday was one of those days for me and as I am flipping the pages of the album for the umpteenth time now, I stop at this photo which is definitely one of my favorites. I kept staring at it and I felt as if I’d gone back into the past again…. It was a Sunday, dad was home, mom finished stitching the pretty summer frocks for US (me n my sis) and in a jiffy we were into them. Dad never missed to take out the camera on such picture perfect days and we were - as always excited for a photo shoot. So we went into the balcony, posed and I could hear dad shouting “a lil to the right, a lil to the left.. aah!! Perfect”. Mom was finding it difficult to carry us both at the same time but somehow managed it. “Say cheese”, dad said and we give our best smiles ever except my sis didn’t know what was happening (she was prolly 1 n a half or 2 then) and had a ‘what is dad up to??’ look. CLICK!!! Picture perfect….. And I hear mom shouting my name out loud. Damn!! I had to put the clothes on the string for drying since me maid went to her hide out again :X !! So after I finish the chore, I come back only to find out that I don’t remember any other happenings of that day!! Sigh.. tried a few times to recollect but nevertheless started staring at the pic again. Gosh!! Mom looks so pretty and that was my favorite place in the whole wide world back then… It was a lil lower than the normal floor – so had few steps, where I’d sit for hours and play wid me cousins. It also had a jaali on the top where the creepers would hang onto it. Looked awesome!! \m/ but pity it had to be destroyed cos of vastu and all… Miss the place more than ever , miss staying wid me family in that house. Hopefully we will soon be staying together in the same house again since i finish my course next month :D **crosses fingers**

P.S: My first blog ever :|
